In the background stands our oldest tree, a Willow Oak. Diameter measures indicate that she began her life in the late 1700s. Since then this beauty has sequestered about 17,000 lbs of CO2.

We ain't gonna lie: We love our 34' x 54' swimming hole. We keep it open May through September.

This mural, designed by Michael Brown, welcomes everyone exiting Hwy. 54 as they enter Jones Ferry Road. Based on school childrens' art, it's Carrboro's way of telling our children "we care for you."

Surrounding our pool is the result of a 2002 community planting effort: from left to right are a Dawn Redwood, a Golden Mop, and a Chinese Fringe Flower.

The Carrboro Film Festival, now in its 20th year, features narrative films and documentaries about the South. It runs every January.

Seven Crepe Myrtles at our entrance. The community planted them 20 years ago. They will flower beautifully June through September.

The free concert series, Freight Train Blues, runs Friday's mid-May through mid-June at Carrboro Commons. It's a project of the Music Makers Foundation supporting traditional music and its artists.
